Canada to increase application processing fees

Effective April 30, 2020, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will increase the processing fees for permanent residence. This is revealed in a document issued on March 13, 2020, by the Privy Council and obtained by Schindler Consulting. According to the amendments to the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations, the processing fee for the permanent residence of an adult applicant (both for the primary applicants and the spouses) will increase from $500 CAD to $825 CAD. The processing fee for the dependent child will rise from #150 CAD to $225 CAD. As for the Right for Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF), it will go up from $490 CAD to $500 CAD. In total, the cost of the PR application of one adult will increase from $1,040 CAD to $1,325 CAD. In addition, processing fees for candidates in the Quebec Investor Class, the Quebec Entrepreneur Class, the Quebec Self-Employed Class, the Federal Start-Up Visa Class, and the Federal Self-Employed Class, it will rise to $1,575 CAD for the principal applicant, $825 CAD for the spouses, and $225 CAD for the dependent child. The total cost of application fees for the above classes will be $2,075 CAD.
