Temporary Foreign Worker Program divides Canadians along age, regional, and political lines, a new poll reveals

A recent Abacus Data survey reveals significant divisions among Canadians regarding the elimination of the Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP), with 44% supporting its phase-out while 30% oppose it. The research identifies clear demographic patterns, with younger Canadians (48-50%) and Prairie residents (49-54%) showing the strongest support, while Quebec (34%) remains the most resistant. Conservative voters (61%) overwhelmingly favour elimination, while Liberal voters are split (37% support, 39% oppose), presenting a challenging wedge issue for the Carney Government as immigration concerns continue to rise nationally.
