The Canada Border Services Agency announces adjustments to land port hours

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has announced plans to modify operating hours at 35 land ports of entry across Canada, effective January 6, 2025. This decision, made in collaboration with the United States, aims to enhance security and optimize resource allocation. The adjustments will allow the CBSA to focus on busier entry points, improving traveller and goods processing efficiency. Most affected ports currently handle minimal traffic during the hours slated for closure, and alternative crossing options will remain available within 100 km. The United States is implementing similar changes, ensuring alignment in border operations between the two countries.
